Trying to create a darn good caffeine free Chai is nebulous at best. With limited options in the world of robust herbal tisanes and decaf black tea being too washed out, Rooibos arrives as somewhat of a savior. We used the spice recipe from our black Chai, strengthened it a little more and mixed it in with organic Rooibos. The result is a totally meaningful cup of delicious red bush Chai.
About This Tea
Ingredients: Organically grown South African Rooibos, organic cardamom, organic cinnamon, organic cloves, organic ginger and organic black pepper.
Nuances: Slightly spicy notes of ginger, cinnamon, and clove.
Steeping Essentials
• Teaspoon: 2 level
• Water: 12 oz, 195F / 90ºC
• Timer: 5-10 minutes
• Storage: Sealed light proof jar/tin in a cool cupboard. Keep away from heat and light sources.
• Best Before: 6-9 months depending on storage. Optimum freshness in the first 6 months after opening
I have started making a Chai latte with this Rooibois. I add some whole cloves from the Gathering Place and a few pieces of sliced gingerroot with some almond milk. So delicious!
As soon as I open a package of tea first thing I do like most of us is smell it.

I have been a tea drinker for decades and have purchased many infusers, tpots and gadgets. For those of you who like drinking multiple small cups as I do, this is the best infuser period. I drink lots of Oolongs, Ti Kuan Yin and straight greens. I love being able to do multiple infusions in small cups and get to enjoy all the different flavours drinking tea this way. TRY IT! You won't be disapointed.
First had this tea in Squamish and asked what it was and they told me so I immediately ordered it. It is a lovely blend and very smooth. So glad I happened upon it!
