Gyokuro Saemidori is Japanese green tea at its most refined—luxurious, umami-rich, and unapologetically indulgent.
Grown under shade for several weeks before harvest, this Gyokuro develops exceptionally high levels of L-theanine, giving it its signature deep umami sweetness, velvety texture, and almost broth-like richness. The Saemidori cultivar is especially prized for its brilliant jade colour and naturally sweet, smooth character with virtually no bitterness.
The cup is intensely aromatic and layered: think sweet spinach, steamed greens, fresh sea air, and a lingering, creamy finish that coats the palate. This is not a “gulp it down” tea—this is a slow, quiet moment tea.
